Through our Threads of Hope shop we employ two young women who grew up in the orphanage, allowing them a way to provide for their families. We believe in helping our children (even when they are no longer children) find ways to utilize the skills God has given them to be financially self-sufficient. Yoli and Nixa learned to make custom woven bracelets as young girls and now work to make unique, custom gifts for purchase. We cover all costs of materials, and all proceeds from every sale go fully to Yolian and Nixa.

Contact Morgan at morganbryant@hope327.org to place an order.

When placing an order, please keep in mind that though orders can be completed within one to two weeks, there can often be a four to five week wait period for the items to arrive to the States from Honduras.

Yolian

Yolian grew up in Valle de Angeles' local orphanage from the ages of 4 to 17. She is now a mother of two precious kids, Jehilyn (6) and Aziel (2). She lives outside of Tegucigalpa with her husband, who works at the local Pepsi canning factory. Though his job is steady, the pay is minuscule and not enough to provide for their family. Yoli has made bracelets as gifts for Morgan throughout the years, and when we asked her about taking orders and selling her work, she asked if she could split the work with Nixa. Even though sharing the work would mean less money for Yoli, she wanted to give her friend the same opportunity she was receiving. In the 14 years Morgan has know Yoli, that has always been her way - caring and giving towards others without a second thought.

Nixa

Nixa grew up with Yolian in the orphanage, though she arrived earlier, as an infant. Her mother visited her often, but never had the means to provide for Nixa or her siblings, as she lived on the streets herself. Nixa left the orphanage at 17 and now lives in Tegucigalpa with her husband, who works for a printing company, and their two children, Adrain (5) and Alyeri (5mo). In addition to raising two kids and working for Threads of Hope, Nixa is putting herself through college, studying English and Biology. Nixa wants to give her children the stable home she never had, a good education, and opportunities she has fought to provide herself.
